New pavement, smoother drive coming to SR 900 in Tukwila
On Monday, April 4, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation started work on a $3.2 million pavement-preservation project on SR 900. The project will repave portions of SR 900 with new asphalt, replace broken concrete panels and completely rebuild a failing section of the road.
Boeing Access Road Station included in Sound Transit’s ST3 Draft System Plan for public review
The City of Tukwila is very pleased to share that the Link light rail station at Boeing Access Road has been included in Sound Transit’s Draft System Plan, the list of projects for the upcoming ST3 ballot measure. With the final list to be determined later this summer, it will be important that supporters of a Link light rail station at Boeing Access Road directly communicate with Sound Transit on this issue.
Major rehab coming to southbound I-5 from Tukwila to Federal Way
Starting Monday, March 21, contractor crews working for the Washington State Department of Transportation will begin an 18-month project to rehabilitate nearly 13 miles of the interstate – replacing expansion joints and concrete panels, repaving sections and resurfacing other sections between Tukwila and Federal Way.
Tukwila residents may qualify for utility discounts or tax rebate
The City operates a Utility Tax Relief Program for low-income seniors 62 or older, and disabled low income residents. Reduced rates on water/sewer, surface water, garbage service and cable TV bills are also available to persons 62 or older, and disabled low income residents.

The City of Tukwila is partnering with BNSF Railway to study alternative access routes to their intermodal yard in Allentown. Before the City begins evaluating the alternative access routes, we need your feedback on the screening criteria.

The Tukwila Community Center will be closed for programs and activities beginning March 14th through the 20th for deep cleaning and maintenance. This closure allows the City to address outstanding upkeep issues and undergo additional maintenance to keep our facility safe and clean.
