The City of Tukwila is assisted in its operations in several areas by the volunteers who serve on our Boards and Commissions. Volunteers serve an important function by offering their time and expertise as members. Anyone interested in serving on a Board or Commission can complete an application and submit it to City Hall.
Did you know that April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month in the City of Tukwila?
The goal of Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) is to raise public awareness about sexual assault, to educate communities on how to prevent it, and to give individuals the chance to speak out about ending sexual violence.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: The City of Tukwila is looking for four community volunteers to sit on the Public Safety Plan Siting Advisory Committee
This group will provide input and advice to City officials while siting new facilities for our first responders. The Committee will report on its activities to the Council a minimum of once every six months, and will report more frequently prior to Council decision points, in order to provide up-to-date advice.

Free Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training on April 27, 2017
Following a large scale emergency, professional responders may not be immediately available as they are tasked with multiple priorities. Through CERT training, individuals and organizations learn life-saving response skills to help each other until professionals arrive.
Tukwila residents may qualify for utility discounts or tax rebate
The City operates a Utility Tax Relief Program for low-income seniors 62 or older, and disabled low income residents. Reduced rates on water/sewer, surface water, garbage service and cable TV bills are also available to persons 62 or older, and disabled low income residents.
Four City Council seats are up for election this year
Interested in helping guide the direction of your community? If you have considered serving in public office, four Council seats are up for election this year. A candidate must be a registered voter and a resident of Tukwila for at least one year. Candidates should have a working knowledge of the laws that regulate City government.
