Provides the manner in which civil service (all police personnel and commissioned fire personnel) examinations, appointments, promotions, transfers, demotions, reinstatements, suspensions and discharges are made. The Public Safety Committee considers and provides policy recommendations on legislative matters relating to police, fire, municipal court, public safety facilities, animal control, and emergency services. Committee members are Chair Kathy Hougardy, Dennis Robertson, and Thomas McLeod.
Regular Meetings are held the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 p.m. at City Hall. At these meetings the Council conducts general and routine business and adopts ordinances and resolutions. At these meetings, the Mayor presides but does not vote unless it is to break a tie.
