National Test of Wireless Emergency Alert System

FEMA and the FCC will be performing a National Test of the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) System and the Emergency Alert System (EAS).
You’ll likely recognize the WEA as those Amber Alerts you get on your cell phone and the EAS as those television tests that interrupt your favorite tv show at a crucial moment or your favorite song on the radio.
All major U.S. wireless providers, television networks, and radio stations participate in this test. Remember, this is a test, and only a test. No action is required.
