Family Fitness Day

9 a.m. – Noon

3K Fun Run & Walk • Tukwila Community Center

Join us for National Family Health & Fitness Day! We will help kick off your summer with fun fitness challenges and a family and pet-friendly 3K walk or run. Location meetup and registration information will be released soon.

Summer Kickoff

Foster High School Football Field • Noon – 2 p.m.

Middle schoolers and high schoolers start your summer off in style! Get ready to dance the day away with a live DJ, dive into a variety of games, and enjoy fun activities designed to kick off your summer with a blast.

 

Wednesday, June 19

Juneteenth

Sullivan Center at Tukwila Village, 14350 Tukwila International Boulevard, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The City of Tukwila welcomes the community to come together for its Fourth Annual Juneteenth Commemoration. Schedule of the day’s event:

11 a.m.  Welcome – Tukwila Councilmember De’Sean Quinn

11:15 a.m.   Presentation of the Black National Anthem, Jayden Walker

11:30 a.m.   Storyteller Sharon Nyree Williams to present “Juneteenth: Freedom is…”

11:40 a.m.   Performance by DaNell Daymon & Greater Works Choir

12:10 p.m.   Keynote Speaker – Rev. Terrence Proctor from Tukwila’s Church by the Side of the Road

12:30 p.m.   Performance – The THROWBACKS Dance Team

1 p.m.    Closing

4th of July Pickleball Event

Concert in the Park Series: Amelia Day & The Cloves

Joseph Foster Memorial Park, 13919 53rd Avenue South

5:30 p.m.

Washington-born, Nashville-based artist Amelia Day joined forces with Seattle-area band The Cloves in late 2022 as folk-rock collaboration “Amelia Day & The Cloves.” The group’s unique sound, which features Wurlitzer electric piano, cello, and lush 3-part harmonies, has landed them headlining shows at iconic Washington venues, including McMenamin’s Spanish Ballroom and Seattle’s The Triple Door.

Celebrate the end of summer with a bang at our End of Summer Bash, featuring exciting games, a selection of food trucks, and the latest back-to-school gear. Wrap up the festivities with a special evening movie in the park, “Kung Fu Panda 4,” for a perfect finale to a memorable summer.
