Small Business Assistance
The Washington State Department of Commerce has an excellent business resource page with information such as business planning and funding strategies, a very useful small business guide with information on starting a business, and an information center with answers to local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
SCORE is the nation’s largest network of volunteer, expert business mentors and is funded by the US Small Business Administration. The SCORE Business Learning Center provides free online courses on topics for start-ups and small businesses.
The United States Small Business Administration provides events and workshops, help finding lenders who issue small business loans, connections to business counselors, and advice on selling products or services to the Federal government.
The Washington Small Business Development Center is a network of business advisors and support staff who can help businesses grow and succeed. The City of Tukwila contracts with the SBDC at Highline Community College to provide counseling services to small businesses.
The Seattle Southside Chamber of Commerce is a membership organization that provides networking opportunities, business information, and other services to its members.
The King County Library System provides many excellent information sources and services to help people learn how to start, manage, and grow their small business.
