Councilmember Verna Seal

Council Position No. 7

Term of office: March 10, 2025 to November 2025 General Election certification date.  Previously elected to the Tukwila City Council, serving from January 2006 to December 31, 2021.

Education and Profession: Verna earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a concentration in Public Administration with a minor in American History.  She also earned an Advanced Certificate in International Law and Legal Studies from Northeastern University in Boston.   She is a Senior Paralegal at the law firm Ryan, Swanson & Cleveland in Seattle where she works on complex business and family immigration matters specializing in cross border work.

Family: She and her husband, Carl, have four children, Chris, Max, Alex, and Jacqueline.  Three of her children graduated from Foster High School.

Interests: Verna loves to travel, hike, row/kayak, and spend time with her family and three dogs.  She is also an avid reader who reads at least 100 books a year!
