Councilmember Tosh Sharp
Council Position No. 1
Term of Office: January 1, 2022 – December 31, 2025
About: Tosh is a proud husband and father who feels blessed to call Tukwila home. He always makes time for those requesting his help and guidance. However, his humble beginnings never allowed him to imagine having the privilege to represent and serve his fellow citizens as a Tukwila Councilmember.
Interests: Spending quality time with family and their dog, Heidi. Encouraging people to get into apprenticeships. Learning new languages. Watching documentaries.
Education: Tosh grew up in the PNW and graduated from Decatur High School. He completed his Bachelor’s in Engineering from Central Washington University via night school while working full-time.
Community Service: He volunteered his time to serve as Chair for Tukwila’s Community Oriented Policing Citizen’s Advisory Board. Additionally, he served as Chair of the city’s Civil Service Commission. However, his proudest service is volunteering for the Tukwila Food Pantry, helping others, and donating his Council salary to various organizations in Tukwila and community outreach.
Profession/Career: He has been a union member for over 20 years, starting as a Teamster at 17 years of age. Tosh presently is a member of the IBEW serving the greater Seattle area, including Tukwila, as a journeyman Lineman. He has also been a small business owner for over 10 years.
