West Valley Highway between I-405 and Strander Boulevard will experience lane closures from July 9 – 14 due to construction. Flaggers will direct traffic through the construction zone. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

Don’t miss Tukwila’s Annual Clean Up on Friday, June 9. Instead of hauling your junk to the transfer station, bring it to your curb for disposal. The Annual Clean Up is designed to help Tukwila households, single-family up to 4 – plex, dispose of bulky household items.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: The City of Tukwila is looking for four community volunteers to sit on the Public Safety Plan Siting Advisory Committee
This group will provide input and advice to City officials while siting new facilities for our first responders. The Committee will report on its activities to the Council a minimum of once every six months, and will report more frequently prior to Council decision points, in order to provide up-to-date advice.

Every 2 years, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) require agencies with bridges to inspect them to remain in compliance with the federal and state laws.
City presents its Public Right of Way Self-assessment and Draft ADA Transition Plan for Public comment
This ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan establishes the City of Tukwila’s ongoing commitment as an all-inclusive community to providing equal access for all, including those with disabilities. Public comments and suggestions about the plan will be accepted now through 5:00 p.m. March 31, 2017.
Notice of Intent to appoint the Public Safety Bond Financial Oversight Committee
The Tukwila City Council is currently seeking five representatives to serve on the Public Safety Bond Financial Oversight Committee. Its purpose is to independently represent taxpayers concerning the City’s expenditures relating to the bond, by reviewing the allocation of bond proceeds and progress on achieving the purposes of the Proposition.

In partnership with Waste Management, the City of Tukwila’s Cleanup Event allows residents to drop off hard to dispose of items such as electronic waste, scrap metal, large appliances, furniture, cardboard boxes and yard waste.
City deploys radar feedback signs as part of the Speed Reduction In Neighborhoods of Tukwila program (SPRINT)
As part of the Speed Reduction In Neighborhoods of Tukwila program (SPRINT), the City of Tukwila will be installing radar feedback signs and performing traffic studies in neighborhoods throughout the city. Last month these devices were deployed on South 160th at 46th Ave. South and preliminary information is being collected currently.
