فارسیA strike of the Western Washington Crane Operators and other workers is currently impacting all City of Tukwila road construction projects (42nd Avenue S, 53rd Avenue S, and the Boeing Access Road Bridge Rehabilitation). Until the labor agreement is settled, all of the City’s projects are affectively stopped and no work is being performed.

The City of Tukwila Fall Cleanup Event takes place on Saturday, December 2, 2017
In partnership with Waste Management, the City of Tukwila’s Cleanup Event allows residents to drop off hard to dispose of items such as electronic waste, scrap metal, large appliances, furniture, cardboard boxes and yard waste.
I-5 Northbound Paving this Weekend: I-405 to Duwamish River Bridge
Contractor crews will close three lanes of northbound I-5 between the I-405 interchange and the Duwamish River Bridge from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28. The lane reductions will give crews enough space to repave the Interurban and Duwamish River bridges as well as replace expansion joints on the Interurban Bridge.

The City of Tukwila has identified 48th Ave S as the preferred route to access the BNSF Railway Intermodal Facility in Allentown. Before the route is formally decided, we’re holding an Open House and online forum to talk to you about the route that we selected based on the criteria you helped us shape.
Construction on three bridge projects will require closures and other disruptions
Construction on all three projects will begin on Monday, July 24, and all are anticipated to be completed in January of 2018. Construction will generally occur between 7:00am and 6:00pm, except when listed below. Some of these efforts will require closures and other disruptions. Drivers will be notified in advance of any closures via mobile electronic signs posted near the bridges in both directions.
Traffic Impact & Construction Notice: Tukwila Urban Center Pedestrian/Bicycle Bridge Installation – July 9-14, 2017
West Valley Highway between I-405 and Strander Boulevard will experience lane closures from July 9 – 14 due to construction. Flaggers will direct traffic through the construction zone. Drivers are encouraged to avoid the area.

Don’t miss Tukwila’s Annual Clean Up on Friday, June 9. Instead of hauling your junk to the transfer station, bring it to your curb for disposal. The Annual Clean Up is designed to help Tukwila households, single-family up to 4 – plex, dispose of bulky household items.
DEADLINE EXTENDED: The City of Tukwila is looking for four community volunteers to sit on the Public Safety Plan Siting Advisory Committee
This group will provide input and advice to City officials while siting new facilities for our first responders. The Committee will report on its activities to the Council a minimum of once every six months, and will report more frequently prior to Council decision points, in order to provide up-to-date advice.

Every 2 years, the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) require agencies with bridges to inspect them to remain in compliance with the federal and state laws.
