The Tukwila Community Connectors Program intends to improve outreach and engagement with with communities historically underrepresented in the civic process and decisions that impact their community. Do you live, work, or attend school in Tukwila? Are you interested in learning more about how the City of Tukwila works? Do you want to partner with the City to build relationships and improve communication between the City and your community? If yes, we want to hear from you! We are now accepting applications for Community Connectors in Tukwila.
Free tax preparation available at the Tukwila Community Center
Come down to the Tukwila Community Center on Tuesdays/Thurdays from 5:00pm – 8:00pm and Saturdays 10:00am – 2:00pm from January 9th through April 19th, 2018. Take the stress out of filing your taxes and have United Way of King County prepare your return for free! Households that make less than $66,000, with tax returns that do NOT involve business taxes, rental income, or sale of property or stocks, are eligible for this free service.
The City of Tukwila is currently recruiting for two community members to serve on a new Port of Seattle community committee.
Starting in February of 2018, the Port of Seattle will convene a new community roundtable called SEA Stakeholder Advisory Round Table (StART). StART will provide an opportunity for Tukwila community members to discuss concerns and voice feedback regarding Sea-Tac Airports construction project, programs, and operations.
Join us for Count Us In 2018, the annual Point in Time Count of people experiencing homelessness on January 26th
The core purpose of the annual Point in Time (PIT) Count is to collect data on the needs of people experiencing homelessness in our community. Volunteers will be asked to work in teams of 2-3 to conduct a visual count of individuals experiencing homelessness across King County.
2018 Standing Committees of the City Council
At the January 2, 2018 meeting of the City Council, Council President Verna Seal announced the names and membership of the four standing Council committees for 2018.
The City of Tukwila Fall Cleanup Event takes place on Saturday, December 2, 2017
In partnership with Waste Management, the City of Tukwila’s Cleanup Event allows residents to drop off hard to dispose of items such as electronic waste, scrap metal, large appliances, furniture, cardboard boxes and yard waste.
