Council Chat Rescheduled to August 27

Council Chat is an opportunity to meet with an individual Councilmember to discuss anything on your mind regarding the community. The August Council Chat will be a “walk and talk,” meeting at Bicentennial Park at 10:00 a.m.
Finalist chosen for the permanent Fire Chief position
The City of Tukwila announced Jay Wittwer as the finalist for the City’s permanent Fire Chief position. His confirmation will be presented to the City Council on Monday, August 1. The meeting will begin at 7:00pm in the Tukwila City Council Chambers. If confirmed, he will be introduced to the Council at a subsequent meeting on August 8.
Pro/Con committee members needed for potential public safety bond
As a part of the overall Public Safety Plan, the City of Tukwila is considering placing a 20-year voter approved bond on the November 8, 2016 general election ballot to support the needs of our first responders. Should the City Council decide to put this before the voters this fall, the City of Tukwila must forward names of individuals interested in being on the pro and con committees to provide statements in favor or in opposition to the ballot measure for the voters’ pamphlet.
