Pro/Con committee members needed for potential public safety bond

As a part of the overall Public Safety Plan, the City of Tukwila is considering placing a 20-year voter approved bond on the November 8, 2016 general election ballot to support the needs of our first responders. Should the City Council decide to put this before the voters this fall, the City of Tukwila must forward names of individuals interested in being on the pro and con committees to provide statements in favor or in opposition to the ballot measure for the voters’ pamphlet.

Join us this weekend for a Public Safety Plan Open House!

The City has a proposal to invest in much-needed public safety facilities and equipment, including fire stations, fire trucks and other lifesaving equipment; a justice center to house the Tukwila Police Department and Municipal Court; and modern Public Works shops. We want your feedback and input! Please join us at one or all of these open houses and learn more about this effort from Tukwila firefighters, police officers and other City staff.
