At last night’s Council meeting, Mayor Ekberg read a proclamation declaring August 3, 2020 as United States 2020 Census Complete Count Day, encouraging all community residents to complete the 2020 Census.
The purpose of the U.S. Census Complete Count is to raise awareness of the importance of responding to the Census, reach out to hard to count populations, and encourage participation. A Complete Count ensures accurate Census data that is critical for government programs, policies and decision making, including federal representation, funding of social services and education programs. It is also a vital tool for economic development and increased employment.
