Be prepared for two major projects on Interstate 5 and State Route 520 this weekend, Aug. 25-28.
#ReviveI5:
Contractor crews will close three lanes of northbound I-5 between the I-405 interchange and the Duwamish River Bridge from 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, to 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28. The lane reductions will give crews enough space to repave the Interurban and Duwamish River bridges as well as replace expansion joints on the Interurban Bridge. Besides I-5, the lane closures will affect traffic on I-405 and SR 518.
Westbound SR 520:
Crews will restripe the lanes on the floating bridge to guide drivers onto the new fixed structure, rather than curving to the left and merging. The work requires a full closure of SR 520, scheduled from 11 p.m. Friday, Aug. 25, through 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 28.
Drivers traveling westbound to the Eastlake area or I-5 will be the first to use the new HOV lane and general-purpose lanes on the West Approach Bridge North when the highway reopens on Monday.
