The City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC) is seeking two qualified representatives

The City of Tukwila is currently seeking two qualified representatives to serve on the City’s Lodging Tax Advisory Committee (LTAC).

What is the LTAC?

The City of Tukwila charges a special lodging tax on certain overnight stays in the City’s lodging establishments. Under State law, the use of these lodging tax funds is limited to tourism promotion.

The LTAC is comprised of nine members. Four of the members of the LTAC are from businesses that collect the lodging tax (hotels and motels); four come from businesses and organizations engaged in activities eligible to be funded by lodging tax (restaurants, museums, sports facilities, commercial property owners, retailers, etc.); and one member of the LTAC is a City of Tukwila elected official.

The LTAC reviews all request to use lodging tax funds and makes a recommendation to the Tukwila City Council if funds should be awarded to specific requesters. Besides reviewing requests to use lodging tax funds, the LTAC also advises the Mayor, City Council, and City staff on issues related to tourism (both overnight and day) in the City.

Meetings of the LTAC occur on the third Fridays of the month at 10 a.m. at rotating locations throughout the City.
